EPSU NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN EPCG, JUAPONG

Hello!!!! Hello!!!! Hello!!!

Fellow members of EPSU…. how are you all doing? Hope the grace issufficient for you as it is for me.

I bring you all the gist of EPSU be it local, district, presbytery or national. Anything EPSU, anywhere, I got the info. Did you know that EPSU has had her first NEC Meeting? See you… you don’t even know what NEC is. NEC (National Executive Committee comprises of the National Executive Council as well as the Presbytery Chairpersons and Secretaries). Now you know right? They meet from time to time to deliberate on issues concerning EPSU. So this maiden meeting for this year was held at EPCG, Juapong on 5th February, 2022. I know your ears are itching to know what went on……….

The meeting began with an opening prayer led by the National Evangelism Coordinator. (For those of you who don’t know him, that is your assignment. Will be reading comments. Who knows? You may get an award from me). This was followed by an exhortation from the Bible Studies Coordinator, Miss Paulina Elorm Agyeiwaa. She spoke on oneness using a text from Genesis 11:6. She admonished members to be united for a common cause like the people who wanted to build the tower of Babel. Because they were one and spoke one language, nothing could hinder their work. As members of our noble union, we each have a role to play and with our common language being EPSU, the sky won’t even be our limit.

The YPO, Rev. Saint Dela Amegbe continued with a leadership training……Mmmmmm, my oh my you should have heard him. The theme was “Focus”. Who are you?, Where are you?, Why are you there?, were the thought provoking questions he asked the house. In his submission, he stated that leaders lose focus because they have identity crisis. If they would know exactly what their roles are
and think about the people they have been called to serve, they will succeed. He concluded by saying one needs four things to succeed: faithfulness, perseverance, steadfastness and courage.

Zooming into the business meeting with the National President as the Chairman, (I know you Know his name) Mr. Patrick Senoo, presbytery camps were assessed thoroughly and other major decisions were made:

1. Submissions of composite programmes of various presbyteries to 2nd Vice President- 15thFebruary, 2022
2. Dates and Venues for cluster of camp Launch by Presbyteries. – 15th February, 2022
3. South Volta Presbytery to organize elections for EPSU Sogakope to ensure appropriate handing over of mandate
4. National Budget should be ready and presented to NEC via an online meeting – March 2022
5. Action Plans for Council – March 2022
6. That every local union or presbytery uses the standard EPSU logo.
7. There are two systems being studied for the database. Members will be registered, once a decision is made on which of the systems the union would go for.

8. Support for the church water project was also discussed and the plans will be rolled out soon.

9. A brief information was given on the church’s 175years celebration this year. Just can’t wait!

10. Various committees were instituted as well. There were: Finance, Audit, Project, Welfare, Disciplinary and Evangelism for the Standing committees. The Constitution Review Committee was equally instituted as an Adhoc Committee. Watch out for the names of the members of these committees in my next gist.(You like gist oooo)
Won’t you say the first meeting was a success? It sure was.

Till I bring you the next gist, stay safe and God keep you. Who knows, I may be somewhere just around your local union or presbytery.
